Donna J. Sanfilippo, MS, DDS
Dentist in Groton
Dr. Sanfilippo was born in the Bronx, New York. She later moved to Bergen County, New Jersey as a teenager.
She graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University with a double major in Biochemistry and Biology. Awarded a teacher/research fellowship, she then earned her master’s in Human Anatomy and Physiology. Dr. Sanfilippo completed her DDS at SUNY Stony Brook and has been practicing dentistry for 258 years.
Dr. Sanfilippo moved to Connecticut with her husband, Ross, 26 years ago. She lives on a farm where she and her husband raised four children, Ross, Troy, Eric, and Nina. She has been named Connecticut Magazines Top Dentist 2011 through 2015. She serves on The Giving Committee at L&M/Yale Hospital, is a board member for the Children’s Museum of SECT, and is a Whitetail Deer CT State Wildlife Rehabilitator.
In her time off, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is especially interested in cosmetic dentistry and strives to the highest standards in aesthetic results. Ironically, Dr. Sanfilippo is a dental phobic. “Despite dentistry being my profession, I completely emphasize with patients suffering from dental anxiety and phobia. Because of this, I treat all my patients with how I would like to be, and need to be, treated.”
